Amy had a load of sand dumped for the pleasure of the short family members. They had a blast...probably sand blasted the washer and dryer as well!
This is a common site. Wherever Endrit is, his computer is not far behind...with kids watching him. He's great with kids...but they have to fend for themselves...no easy wins with him.
The four wheelers carried lots of people, this was one of the lesser loads...at least as far as 'people' go.
After Kansas, we had the wonderful opportunity to go a little further West and see some of the Church History sites. Our first stop was Liberty Jail. It is very sobering to see and 'feel' some of the suffering that was experienced by the early Saints. Would that I will be so faithful.
Then we visited Adam On Di Ahman. Something that most people, even members of the church, have no idea of the significance of this beautiful place, in history and the future.
What happens when you are not directed by a true Prophet. I thought it looked somewhat like the Tower of Babel...reaching, ever reaching.
These are the actual bullet holes that went through the door and the edge of the door. The one through the door was the shot that hit Hyrum in the face. If you click on the picture and enlarge it, you will get a feel of the caliber of shot that was used.
I took a lot of pictures of the Nauvoo Temple. What a special Temple that is. I never tired of looking at it.
This spot looks out over the Mississippi River towards the West at the end of Parley's Street where the Saints marched and crossed over in the cold, cold February weather.
This is the stone covering the graves of Joseph and Hyrum. We were here in the evening at the same time as one of the direct descendants of Joseph. She was able to give us some interesting history. She joined the church a few years back. Her son was the first direct descendant that went on an LDS mission. I have to say here that my daughter in law Heidi would have been the first one. She had her call and a MTC date, but met Isaac and got married instead. We're so happy she is part of our family. She didn't even have to change her last name!
We were so excited to be able to visit with a couple who we served with in Ukraine. The Drebits' are serving in Nauvoo at this time.
